RAILRIDERS was revealed by Magpie Country on September 10, 2026. Coming to PC via Steam, this 1-4 player co-op shooter puts a team aboard a train racing through a dieselpunk Wild West overrun by creatures and corrupted machines. Off-rail missions, fast-paced combat, jetpacks and eight archetypes are all part of the experience.
RAILRIDERS turns a moving train into the heart of its co-op missions
Magpie Country is introducing a concept that should quickly catch the attention of co-op shooter fans. In RAILRIDERS, players take on the role of Railriders tasked with completing particularly dangerous contracts across the Neo-Frontier.
The region has been devastated by the Old Growth. Abandoned towns, mines and industrial facilities are now occupied by deadly creatures and machines twisted by the infestation.
To venture into these dangerous areas, a team of 1 to 4 players travels aboard a train. As they approach a mission, the Railriders leave the tracks to complete their contract before making their way back to their ride.
There's one major catch: the train keeps moving while the mission is underway. The team must complete its objective and then make it back to the tracks quickly enough for everyone to get back aboard.
RAILRIDERS combat focuses on speed and jetpacks
RAILRIDERS doesn't want players standing still during combat. Its fighting system is built around movement, with slides, quick bursts of speed and jetpacks that allow players to move rapidly through areas while battling hordes of enemies.
That mobility will also come into play when reaching objectives, rescuing a downed teammate or making the final sprint back to the tracks.
Customization will also play an important role. The game features eight archetypes, two of which can be combined to create your own class. Weapons can also be modified, allowing players to further tailor their loadout to their preferred combat style.
Magpie Country founders Allan Wintersieck and Kinison Luttrell aim to combine fast-paced combat, extensive freedom of movement and a cooperative experience focused entirely on player-versus-environment gameplay.

RAILRIDERS contracts promise changing objectives and unpredictable dangers
Every trip beyond the tracks can send players on different contracts. These missions can involve recovering Amber, clearing infestations or escorting cargo before attempting to make it back to the train.
Magpie Country also wants to prevent missions from playing out the same way every time. Changing objectives and unpredictable phenomena known as Blooms can alter the environment and the threats encountered by the team.
The train itself is more than just a means of transportation. The developers describe it as a tool, a way to travel across the map and even a gigantic hammer capable of directly influencing the experience.

RAILRIDERS is coming to PC and can already be wishlisted on Steam
RAILRIDERS is currently in development for PC, and its Steam page is already live for players who want to add the game to their wishlist.
With its dieselpunk Wild West, hordes of creatures, customizable classes and, most importantly, a train that keeps moving while contracts are underway, Magpie Country is building its co-op experience around constant pressure. Completing the mission will only be part of the challenge. Players will still need to survive the journey back and make sure the entire team gets aboard before the train leaves them behind.
